NO THOUGHT WENT INTO THE MAKING OF THIS POEM

I have been able to successfully
live in the moment for up to

30 seconds at a time

you just push every thought

out of your mind

it becomes blank like

the page I'm writing this on

before I fill it up

you become keenly aware of

sounds at that point

the sounds you normally block out

with your monkey mind

going a mile a second

push it past the half-minute

mark and congrats...

you are a zen master!

thoughts are insidious

even when you don't think

you are thinking

you are thinking about

not thinking

and all manner of things

like a poem you are thinking of writing

about not thinking

and I tried so not to think while writing this
and I do think it shows

  1. Yep you could be right. With this intense philosophical depth you could become a world leader:)

    1. I think you really have to be a non-thinker, if current leaders are any example, to be in that position. So yes, I may have that potential!

  6. So Zen. Thinking about not thinking is thinking! This is the kind of poem I like to write, a meditation that translates the present moment.

  8. Muchas gracias. My train of thought has often been described as a one track mind! I guess you would call that good focus--lol
