TIMOTEO'S SENRYU STEW (eat slowly...and savor)

hacking up a hairball
onto the carpet--
cat licks himself again

beauty contestant stumbles
regains composure--
expletive deleted

coyotes howl
pampered pooches chime in...
call of the wild

  1. Well, how can I not like the beauty contestant senryu? Good stuff! Of course, the others are great, too :)

  2. how many of us domesticated howl like we are wild then go back into our homes looking for our collar...the pairing of these is rather amusing...

  3. Timoteo's Senryu Stew...I often hear the faint howl of coyotes in the wee hours...had one in my backyard wanting to make stew out of my dog...i've often wished a beauty contestant would stumble...and i had a cat that often spit up hairballs...but 'cat licks himself again', 'beauty contestant regains composure'...and my pampered pooch 'chimed in' with the haunting howl of the coyote, once he was safely inside...i enjoyed this poem very much because it is random...it is life...something to observe at every turn and ponder...seemingly simple and yet having two sides to every verse...well done...

  4. Tongue is firmly in cheek with these--most amusingly. No matter how many hairballs they cough up, they will always keep licking--true story. Animal instinct is way overrated.

  8. Whenever I stumble, I get up, dust myself off, and move on. Sometimes it is not easy. Nice words...
