SPEED SKATER

Woman with thighs
the size
of tree trunks
slicing up big chunks
of ice

Gliding light as a feather

But who will prize
those thunder thighs
when it's bikini weather?

  1. lol - I think if you bring up thunder thighs to these women you might get a severe injury! ;)

  2. Yup, Talon!
__Tim, I know you've seen the skates they use, weapons!
__Because of my laughing here, I've donned my shin-guards!

__A better sport, though, and it governed by the clock and not a team of judges. The clock... has but >one< immovable opinion.

  4. Well see I disagree with you on beautiful legs. However since I think a good poem should make you think. You've created a masterpiece.

  8. TALON,
They've got thunder thighs but they're fast as lightning!

    MAGYAR,
Yes, the clock is the only honest judge--remember that infamous Russian judge from one of the previous Olympics who was involved in some skulduggery?

    SIR PERCY,
Sacrifices for sure, but not too sure about the rest of it!

    MARTY,
Thanks for that...yes, we all have different tastes when it comes to the female form.

    DEVIKA,
You and me--we know how to have FUN!

    LORRAINE,
Thanks, but I feel I must get MUCH sillier to meet the standards of the Silly Poem Fest!

    KOBICO,
"Honey, do these skates make me look fat?" LOL

  9. Those thighs could probably crack walnuts so be careful not to comment too loudly about those legs in bikinis lest you find your own walnuts in a bind....LOL.

  10. GYPSY,
Yeah, I'd just hate to get my head caught in there. ;)

  11. Hey, I actually sort of saw some of the Olympics last night! I think it was a hockey game, but I was in a bar and there was a band and I was a little tired because we'd hiked in the chilly drizzle.

  12. KOBICO,
I think you just hallucinated you were watching a hockey game because people were laid out flat all over the place--most likely you were actually watching The Bachelor!

it is a bit intimidating though...
though thighs might pinch me in half...

  18. BRIAN: Good point (pardon the pun) about those skates!

DAWN: Power indeed. Everything is a trade off, and they sacrifice physical comeliness to go for the gold.

    GRAPELING: Ha ha ha

VIVINFRANCE: There is a beauty, I think, in the skill and athletic prowess it takes to be really good at it.

MAGYAR: Can't believe it's been four years since the last "go round."

  20. ATREYEE: The speed skater's credo:
Keep your eye on the prize
And don't worry 'bout them thunder thighs
When it's over you can shake a leg
    And go to Jenny Craig

    MARIAN: Ah...you know me!
