NO THOUGHT WENT INTO THE MAKING OF THIS POEM
I have been able to successfully
live in the moment for up to
30 seconds at a time
you just push every thought
out of your mind
it becomes blank like
the page I'm writing this on
before I fill it up
you become keenly aware of
sounds at that point
the sounds you normally block out
with your monkey mind
going a mile a second
push it past the half-minute
mark and congrats...
you are a zen master!
thoughts are insidious
even when you don't think
you are thinking
you are thinking about
not thinking
and all manner of things
like a poem you are thinking of writing
about not thinking
and I tried so not to think while writing this
and I do think it shows

Yep you could be right. With this intense philosophical depth you could become a world leader:)
ReplyDeleteI think you really have to be a non-thinker, if current leaders are any example, to be in that position. So yes, I may have that potential!
DeleteI want to use this opportunity to appreciate Dr Ekpen for the good work that his doing around the world, many of you must have ahead of him and what his doing. Delete7 minutes sounds good to me … Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteYeah but...I think you're talking about something else (smiles)
DeleteSo Zen. Thinking about not thinking is thinking! This is the kind of poem I like to write, a meditation that translates the present moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Colleen! That present moment is so elusive, ain't it? Oh, there it is...whoops, it' gone...oh here's another...whoops...
Deletelol...now that's a train of thought (or thinking) that takes some focus to focus on. You are always clever, loved this!!
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias. My train of thought has often been described as a one track mind! I guess you would call that good focus--lol
