HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK

Some look
really geeky

some look
really dorky

and a few
so arrogantly
self-assured

but I was there
and I know
that was whistling
through the graveyard

  3. I know that boy. He used to drive a pale blue Thunderbird. The girls used to write love notes and stick them under his windscreen wipers:)

  4. I never did that... but I didn't get to kiss the girls until later... it took some self assurance.

  6. I thought it was going to say something about a "wolf whistle," the way one whistles for someone good looking. Although I think we all looked old, dated for sure.

    1. "Whistling through the graveyard" speaks to the false bravado that many of us effected as we faced an uncertain future.

  8. Love seeing you in your glory days! Great reminder too that we often fake the confidence we show. I seem to still be doing that on a daily basis.

  10. Ah, dear. I work with some of those girls. And I'm watching my teenage daughter's friends starting to take the decisions that will really affect their lives, and can see a couple of them heading down the doomed route, and there is NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT.
