REAL

What is a memory?
And what is a dream?
And is one more real
than the other?

The memory

you say
because it once existed.
But I say the dream--
because it still
holds the promise
of fruition.

  1. Interesting poem, Timoteo. I would say they are both equally real. Without memories, we probably would form no dreams. Our dreams for the future depend on our memories of yesterday.

  2. MARY: Sometimes we need to forget certain memories to keep on dreaming.

  5. Hey Tim :) ~~ I say your poet was a dreamer so of course the dream was more real to him! Was my answer correct?

  6. ARLENE: Thanks! No didn't take that one.

BRIAN: True...getting too bogged down in the past can be depressing--and that's not a good mindset to project into the future.

JIM: Yes it was, Jim...because all poets are dreamers.

  7. There are memories we wish to remember and those we beg to forget. I am a dreamer so I say give me dreams so tomorrow will hold promise.

  9. Memories and Dreams ... Memories are just that, and they belong in a cellar (locked and the key thrown away. Dreams are attempts to look around the bend ... I will never stop to look around the bend.
